We’re Sumana and Akash…a couple from India who grew up in a world where travel felt like a word meant for someone else. Not for families like ours. Not for salaries like ours. And definitely not while there are EMIs to pay and responsibilities to quietly carry.
We’re not here with ring lights and matching luggage. We figure things out as we go…sometimes beautifully, sometimes chaotically, but always genuinely. We’ve slept in guesthouses that looked nothing like their photos, driven through eastern Turkey on roads that weren’t on any app, and once arrived in Cairo with the wrong currency and no backup plan. The trips don’t always go to plan. Neither does the writing. But it’s ours…and that matters more than it being polished.

Has an obsessive curiosity about ancient civilisations…the kind that makes him stop in the middle of a museum for twenty minutes just to stare at one artifact. If there’s a ruin within fifty kilometres, the itinerary will change.

Notices everything the camera misses…the way a street smells at 6am, the expression on a shop owner’s face, the unspoken rhythm of a city finding its feet. She writes from that place, quietly and exactly.

How Travel Found Us...And What It Cost to Let It In.
Travel didn’t happen for us because we had surplus money or free time. It happened because we got tired of waiting for the right moment…and slowly realised the right moment was never going to show up on its own. At some point, you stop waiting and start deciding.
The first time we planned a trip entirely on our own…budgeted every rupee, figured out local transport, stayed in a guesthouse that was nothing like the photos…something clicked. It wasn’t about the destination. It was the feeling that we were actually living, not just getting through the week. That one trip changed the way we looked at everything that came after it.
Since then, every trip has taught us something. About history, yes…but also about patience, trust, and what we’re actually capable of when we stop making excuses. We’ve missed trains in Istanbul, overpaid for things we should have negotiated, spent a night in Egypt wondering if the desert camp was actually going to materialise, and had days that didn’t resemble any version of a travel blog. And we’d do all of it again.

What We're Obsessed With — And Why It Changes Every Trip.
Ancient history. Full stop. We are the people who will walk past a hotel pool to spend three extra hours at a ruin. Standing inside a 2,000-year-old temple or wandering through an archaeological site gives us a feeling that’s hard to put into words…something close to touching time itself. How did these people live? What did they believe? What mattered to them enough to build something that would outlast everything they knew?
Mythology, spiritual history, and cultural evolution fascinate us — not in an academic way, but in a deeply human one. We’ve stood at Göbekli Tepe in southeastern Turkey at a site twelve thousand years old, walked the corridors of Karnak at dusk, traced the Vijayanagara Empire through Hampi’s boulder fields, and driven past Byzantine ruins in villages that no longer appear on tourist maps. Every civilisation asked the same questions we’re still asking today. That thread across thousands of years…it never gets old. It’s actually why we travel.

Why We Started This — And Who It's Really For.
Honestly? Because we couldn’t find enough travel content written for people like us. Most travel blogs assume you’re either flush with money or already a seasoned traveller with flexible leave. We were neither. We needed to know: how do you actually do this on a middle-class Indian income? How do you plan a trip when you can’t take ten days off? What happens when things go sideways, and there’s no backup budget?
This blog is our attempt to answer those questions…honestly, without the Instagram filter. You’ll find real itineraries with actual costs, trip reports that include the parts that didn’t work, and cultural deep dives written by two people who genuinely believe that knowing the story behind a place changes everything about being there. No fluff. No sponsored perfection. Just what we actually found when we showed up.
